This year’s 2024-25 Lincoln golf team has an exciting lineup of players in store. These golfers have been working throughout the off-season to hopefully give us some good performances this year.
Nathan Race is Lincoln’s golf team captain, and he is featured in our player spotlight. When asked about what started his golf career, he said that he did the Interbay junior golf camp in 2021 because he “didn’t have anything else to do in his free time,” which sparked his interest in golf. After the camp, he spent two seasons on the Lincoln team before being named captain at the end of sophomore year. Last year, the team made it to the second round of playoffs but Race got injured and wasn’t able to play.
Race’s said his goals for this season are “to do well in playoffs, specifically at districts. Then to make it to state hopefully.” So far this season the golf team is 2-1 after a close loss to Ingraham on Friday. Race had even shot a personal best!
When asked about the Lincoln golf community, he said, “Some of the other schools don’t even have a full golf teams so it’s cool that Lincoln has a full team and it has helped me make a lot of friends. ” Overall, Race is excited for the rest of the season and hopes to improve with the team as the season goes on.
