With the fall sports season coming to an end, many fall sports programs at Lincoln have had a successful postseason run. Months of practice and hard work have set up teams to go to districts, and even make it as far as state. In past years, teams have been able to compete in metro championships, but after the move to 4A, many were not allowed to compete in metros. Regardless, this year, boys and girls cross country, girls swim, and girls soccer all competed in the state tournament.
So how did each team do in the postseason? Girls swim made it to state and had an impressive result, placing 4th in the state tournament. When asked about her goals for next year’s postseason, captain Matilda White (’26) said “We hope to score top 3 at state!” Lincoln cross country also performed very well, with the boys team placing 4th in state, and three girls qualifying individually for state. Anna Haber (’27), one of the girls runners who qualified, says “My goal for next year is to go to state with the team and place better than I did this season.”
The last fall sport that qualified for the state tournament is girls soccer, who made it to the first round of state, facing difficult competition after the move to the 4A division. One of the captains, Natalie Kelly (’26) has high hopes for next year’s postseason run, stating “Next year, my hopes for the postseason are to win state.”
