We’re back! It’s time for another Lincoln fantasy draft, this time for winter sports. We called upon our esteemed sport writers Josiah Smith (‘26), Naomi Endo (‘26), Nate Blank (‘26), and Lily French (‘27) to give us insight on the players with the most fantasy potential this season.
The format will again be a snake draft, this time only four rounds because of the decreased number of sports in the winter season.
The results are as follows:
1.01 Hugo Henrickson (‘25) Boys Basketball
Teammate Josiah Smith called Hugo “an aura god”. The leading scorer of last year’s offense averaging nearly 20 points per game, this first team all-metro selection has definitely earned his spot as the top pick for this season’s draft.
1.02 Nour Chalasani (‘27) Gymnastics
As the most well rounded gymnast, Nour has proven that she is an all-around performer. “Nour is a talented and strong athlete that always has her routines mastered” said Morgan Siska (‘26). As the top gymnast of a skilled and accomplished team, Nour is one to keep an eye on this winter.
1.03 Devon Nobil (‘25) Girls Basketball
This decorated varsity athlete and first team all-metro player picked in the fall draft, has proven herself time and time again. “Devon is an amazing player on offense and defense, leading the team both on and off the court,” said co-captain Ellie Wickline (‘25).
1.04 Wyatt Smith (‘25) Wrestling
Smith is destined for another dominant season. Coming in at 5’10, 144 pounds, Wyatt Smith takes his training very seriously, leading him to be a great captain and an even better wrestler. Teammate Ethan McGowan (‘25) called him “The best on the team”.
2.01 Theo Davis (‘26) Boys Swimming
The school record holder in five different events, this top swimmer is destined for another successful season with a potential state run. Captain Bennett Carver (‘25) called him “An absolute breast stroke demon,” referring to his specialty in the 100m breast event.
2.02 Kingston Evans (‘26) Boys Basketball
Another junior taken off the draft board, Evans cemented his name in the lineup with an impressive stat line last year. “When that three splashes, you know he’s gonna hit the boom,” said teammate Luke Dagg (‘26).
2.03 Nico Lettunich (‘26) Flag Football
Lettunich has proven herself as the lead defensive liaison. “Nico is a great team leader who can play both sides of the ball at an elite level,” said teammate Anna Foss (‘25).
2.04 Lou Shernoff (‘27) Girls Basketball
Combining skillful technique with powerful grit, Lou is a trailblazer for the next generation of Lincoln girls hoopers. “Lou is the superior Shernoff,” boasted Captain Devon Nobil (‘25).
3.01 Ethan McGowan (‘25) Wrestling
A co-captain of the wrestling team, Ethan “E-Money” McGowan has grown his wrestling strength exponentially, and is a solid candidate to take over the 126 weight class this year.
3.02 Nash Bane (‘26) Swimming
Combining extreme work ethic with impressive times, Nash makes swimming the sport to watch. “He’s the first one in the pool every day,” said teammate Theo Davis (‘26).
3.03 Luke Dagg (‘26) Boys Basketball
Luke is the starting center for boys basketball. Despite senior teammate Leo Kashyap saying “He has no right hand,” he is still a confident shooter and rebounder that will see extreme success.
3.04 Ari Lehnert De Smet (‘25) Wrestling
The leading girls wrestler is destined for another incredible and dominant season. This senior is known as the master of take downs, and is set to dominate her opponents to a maximum this season.
4.01 Liz Emory (‘25) Bowling
A walking masterclass in the art of bowling, rolling a strike is second nature to Liz. “Liz is the best bowler there is!” said manager Ash Richards (‘25).
4.02 Campbell Harcourt (‘26) Wrestling
Using the skills he’s learned from rock climbing, his grip strength and mobility is something to take deeply into account. “Campbell is a great wrestler, and a large asset to the team,” said teammate Jayce Lopez. (‘25)
4.03 Natalie Kelly (‘26) Girls Basketball
Another talented player from the girls basketball team, Kelly is set up for a third stellar season seeing an increased role this year. She has an unparalleled ability in 3 point shooting and is a solid defensive player. Teammate and captain Devon Nobil described her as a “female Lebron.”
4.04 Bennett Carver (‘25) Boys Swimming
Known as “sigma” for the way he leads the team, Benett is a captain this year, and a strong swimmer. Specializing in the 50 free, he’s definitely someone to watch out for.
With these stacked fantasy rosters, any team could win. With the quantity of talented Lincoln athletes, even players drafted late could be breakout stars.
