In the bustling halls of Lincoln High School, one name has become synonymous with soccer excellence: Nalyn Dungel (‘25). Having joined the varsity soccer team as a freshman, Dungel has spent the last 3 years helping bring victories home with the Lynx. Now a senior, it’s safe to say his time spent on the team has been nothing short of incredible.
Dungel says he has “grown my relationship skills, as well as my soccer skills” during his time on the team. “I think playing with teammates and opponents up to 4 years older than me has benefitted and pushed me to be better,” he said.
As Dungel progressed through high school, his role on the team has evolved. He has gone from being a swing as a freshman, to the team captain this year.
Who he is as a player isn’t the only thing that has improved over time. Dungel says that they have “had a lot of coaching changes, but the program has always stayed strong.”
The soccer team has been a significant part of Dungel’s time at Lincoln High School. He believes it has overall been an incredible experience, he specifically recalls, “winning metros and then even state my sophomore year,” as some of his most memorable highlights in his journey.
Looking ahead, Dungel is excited about the future, both for himself and the team. “We have a lot of talent, so I think we will do really well this year.”
Dungel will be sad to leave his teammates next year, but he has faith in the team’s abilities, stating he feels the team is, “very connected, and everyone is very dedicated!”
The soccer season is underway, and the team is putting in the work! Show support to your Lincoln boys Lynx soccer program by showing up to games!
