Pineapple on pizza: Ms. Richards and Amelia Freeland (12) & Sofia Dierdorf (12)

You heard it here first! The majority of LHS students we interviewed are in support of the controversial pizza topping, pineapple, with one even going as far as to say it goes well with pesto, an unheard-of combination. Opposed to the others we heard from, Ms. Richards firmly disagreed with pineapple on pizza, going as far as to say it’s “disgusting,” and “shouldn’t be a thing”. What’s your take? Personally, I think pineapple is an excellent addition to any pizza.

What color is the math folder?: Rafi, Bianca Petersen (11), & Ms. O’Neil

There’s some controversy over what color the math folder is. Ms. O’neil in the attendance office states, “the math folder is purple because it is my favorite color.” I cannot get behind this opinion as math is not my favorite subject. The more common answers among students were red or blue. Two students in the third floor hallway, Bianca Petersen and Rafi went as far as saying addition is red and subtraction is blue. The only correct answer is red. The color red represents math because it is an aggressive and furious color, similar to the feelings I experience in my Algebra II class. What color is YOUR math folder?

Who is going to win DWTS?: Sylvie Vermilya (10), Fiona Kelly (10), & Jon Mathis (11)

LHS students are divided on which D’Amelio is going to take home the Dancing with the Stars win! Fiona Kelly and Sylvie Vermilya adamantly expressed their love of Charli, stating that she would “definitely” win, with Fiona even going as far as to say that Charli is her “favorite person.” On the other hand, Jon Mathis brings a bold perspective to the discussion adding that Heidi is “just more girlboss.” Although Charli does have past dancing experience, we cannot ignore how much of a girlboss Heidi is. For now, this remains a mystery until DWTS unveils a winner, so make sure to tune in.

Are Jorts coming back?: Amelie Young (11), Willie Stoehr (11), & Theo Shernoff (11)

The controversial fashion item jorts seem to NOT be coming back. This 90’s inspired trend seemed to be resurfacing this year, but LHS students are not having it. Theo Shernoff, Amelie Young, and Willie Stoehr seem to have strong opinions on the topic of jorts. Theo says that jorts are “ugly” and “better not be” coming back. Willie says she would wear “the shorter ones” but will never be caught rocking “the longer ones” because they are “ugly.” Some strong thoughts from Willie and Theo. Amelie however “loves” jorts. When we asked her to elaborate on why she loves them, she said “because they’re jorts”. Some very valid points from Amelie. Personally, I think anyone can pull off jorts if paired with the right belt. They are comfy, cool, and stylish.
