As we head into the last quarter of the year, ASB is preparing for the future of student leadership at Lincoln. With ASB elections just released, new presidents, officers, and treasurers will soon be taking office to represent the student body in the coming year. These elections are an opportunity for Lincoln to shape a more inclusive, engaged, and well represented school community.
For students who may be unfamiliar with ASB, it is a student-led organization responsible for planning and organizing many of the events that define our school culture, including spirit weeks, dances, assemblies, and fundraisers. ASB members work extremely hard to reflect the diverse interests and needs of Lincoln’s student body while encouraging school spirit and connection.
ASB ballots opened on March 9, giving students the chance to watch candidate election videos and read through anonymous infographics during mentorship. Throughout the campaign period, posters filled the hallways, and candidates shared their platforms, so pay attention and think carefully about who you want to support. Voting closed on March 23, and results were announced on March 24.
Class of 2026 President An-li Nguyen offered some advice to those running for office in the future. “Try to show as much of your unique personality in your campaign and in your videos. The students of Lincoln want to feel that they can relate to their representatives and trust that they truly understand their values.”
Even if you were not elected this year, there are many meaningful ways to contribute to our school community through groups like Lynx Crew or Spirit Committee. To all the students who ran for an ASB position, remember that your involvement matters, regardless of the election outcome. Running for a position isn’t the only way to be involved in the school community. There are so many amazing opportunities through the spirit committee and more that allows you to stay involved.
Participating in ASB is not only a valuable addition to your resume, but it is also an incredible opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork, and communication skills. Be sure to get involved and make your voice heard in shaping Lincoln’s events, assemblies, and spirit weeks.
