The Lincoln Women’s soccer team clicked into gear this past week, proving their dominance after a 3-0 victory against the Ingraham Rams. After a slow start to the 2025 season with a record of 2-3, the team seems to have found success which could help ignite a winning streak. Following the loss of 14 players last season, the team has been navigating a transition with a new roster and a new playstyle. The new players are coming from JV, JVC, and even a few straight out of middle school – Mila Christensen (‘29), Ayla Solomon (‘29), and Claire Thompson (‘29), so there is not much overlap for pre-existing chemistry, which has been a major focus in past years. Captain Julia Coco (‘26) said, “The team has been working with a sports psychologist, which has helped build our team chemistry and is now showing on the field.” This is promising to hear for fans of the Lynx soccer program as they work towards solidifying their position in districts.
An extremely impressive performance from Captain Natalie Kelly (‘26) led to her scoring all three goals against Ingraham, showing why her teammates have such high regard for her play. According to Coco, Kelly has been a key player for the team. Even though she is a forward, “she covers the field well and does it all.” As the leading scorer of the team, she is certainly making a name for herself throughout the league. There is a lot to be excited for as a women’s soccer fan; there is tons of talent within the team, which will hopefully make for another successful season. Don’t miss out on any of the action. Make sure to come cheer them on, especially when it comes time for the playoffs.
