The Lincoln Boy’s Basketball is revving up for the upcoming season and are looking to build on their winning record from last year. There is an intense energy running through the players as they push through their offseason workouts, preparing for the opening whistle. The biggest challenge the team will face this season is stepping up to fill the void left by graduated players. A notable loss is Hugo Hendrickson (Class of 2025), who was honored as the Metro League MVP last season. While this is a significant loss for the team, it poses benefits for returning players, allowing them to have more opportunities on the court. A leader on the team, Luke Dagg 26’ said, “Myself and others are already a step up, and have done what is needed to succeed this year.” Referring to the summer programs that the players have taken part in during the offseason, this promising insight shows that the team has a hunger to build on from last year and prove themselves as a competitive team in the metro league. There are many more things to be excited about as fans of the basketball program such as the striking personalities of players on the team. Although the focus of the team is to win games, they also want to ensure there is entertainment value. Through team bonding processes, the players have planned ways to get the crowd hyped during games. Dagg says there will be “a little surprise” during the team walkouts that will do just that. Basketball season is always a treat, but this year it’s pushing to be even more special. Don’t miss out on the action because Dagg’s surprise will be a topic for the ages.
